Sorry it’s been awhile since the last update on Bonnie. She is doing fabulous – when we last weighed her at home she was up to 42lbs! Her rib cage has almost disappeared with a little extra padding and her spine is also slowly filling out. She has become much more playful and demanding for affection, even to the point of “diving” down on the floor when she sees you and rolling over for you to scratch her tummy. We are taking her in to the vet again tomorrow to get the last round of her anti-fungal vaccine, and will get an official weight again tomorrow. We’re so pleased that she is responding well to her treatments and we tend to forget that she is still a sick dog. We are scaling back her steroids tomorrow so she will be just on the anti-fungal medicines, pepcid and a steroid once a day…quite an improvement from when she started! She is eating like a horse – anything and everything, and has such a zest for life. She’s finally getting to the point where we feel she might be ok to start playing with our dogs a bit since she’s not quite so fragile, and we will begin introducing them together slowly and see how it goes. Thanks again for all the prayers and support! She is one lucky girl and everyone’s good thoughts and prayers are working.
