Update on kitten season needs

We have over 50 bottle babies in our care and more are coming in every day. There are a few items we really need to help these bottle babies survive.

You can help by getting the word out to your family, co-workers and friends about these items!

Here are some items we need:

Heating pads – the type without automatic shut-off
Digital food scales (for weighing kittens)

1,000th pet pulled from TLAC

Bowser

Hello! I’m Bowser, and I’m practically the cutest dog you’ll meet. Seriously, a Sharpei mixed with a Dachshund… doesn’t get any more ridiculously adorable. When the nice people at APA first met me at the shelter, I was totally terrified. I wouldn’t come say hello, I didn’t like being picked up, that place was so loud and scary I didn’t like it! Every day those same people would come back to pet me, so I started to realize maybe people aren’t all bad, and gave … more

Chief’s broken leg is healing!

chiefSome of you may have met me already, my name’s Chief, I’m a Dalmatian puppy. I was found wandering the streets of Austin with a bunch of cuts, scrapes, and worst of all – a broken leg bone that was sticking through the skin! Ouch! The shelter picked me up and took me to the doctor, where I was diagnosed with a broken bone and a bad bone infection. They called APA for help because they knew my medical bills were going to be too much and they would have to … more
