Monty’s adoption

by austinpetsalive • Posted in: Where are they now

Monty was officially adopted by his foster mom, Tina, this month.  Here’s what Tina has to say about him:

monty“Over the past couple of months, I was able to watch a young wounded puppy become a very healthy, almost normal puppy.

He has made me realize what someone or something will do to survive – learning to adapt to whatever situation and make it work.

Monty was able to adapt to two legs instead of four and he still had a great attitude.

As of today, he is a puppy more then ever. He gets into everything but then looks at you with those beautiful eyes and says ” look what I did”.

He is running every morning and night trying to catch his back end up with the huge shoulders he has. I see him getting better every day. He plays and jumps as if nothing had happened to him.

He makes friends wherever he goes.

I have learned from Monty that whatever happens in life, you can overcome it as he did himself. It appears that whatever happened to him (if it was by a human) – he does not hold any bad feelings. He has no bad feelings or aggressive feelings towards anyone. Monty just takes every day one at a time and continues to love life.

He is going to be one of the best dogs I have ever had and I thank you all for giving me a chance to help him and adopt him.”

Thank you to all of his donors and supporters who saved his life!

I saw him for the first time at the Homeslice carnival, a handsome looking puppy and I kept thinking “His back legs look a little odd. I wonder if I’m just imagining it?” and I heard someone say “Monty” and thought “No way! That barely perceptible awkward leg movement if from the dog who had two broken legs just a few months ago?!” But it was him! What a trooper! I know it must’ve taken a lot of hard work from his mom, too, what a wonderful soul for taking him into her heart.
