Record Adoptions Yesterday

by dixie • Posted in: Adoptions, Pets Needing Homes

Congratulations to 16 cats and kittens who went to their forever homes yesterday at the Ohlen Petsmart Valentine’s Day adoption event. Here are just a few of those lucky cats and a few more who are still waiting to find the love of their lives! Could that be you?

Both Alfie and Ellie found homes.

Momma cat Nougie and all her babies were adopted.

Everyone’s favorite little talker Zepplin went to a great home where she can play with kids all day long.

Cute cross eyed Kiera went to her forever home, too.

Here are a few cats still waiting to find a love to call their own -

The stunning Esther and her fluffy and equally gorgeous sister Endora

Kathy the Hemmingway cat!

Plus size queen, Lucy.

Luna, the all white darling. How could you resist that little face! Just look at her getting some lovin’ from the passersby.

Special thanks to all the volunteers who helped out yesterday, who brought goodies to sell and who made the giveaway raffle basket as well. YOU ARE AMAZING!

So glad adoptions are going well. I adopted my lovely border collie mix Lily (formerly Sugar) and want to post her photo and story – she is a darling dog, perfectly well mannered and fits into my household with my other dogs and cats. She is a love and my Valentine. Let me know where I can post her photo on your website – Peggy (Lily’s Mom)

Thanks for asking, Peggy! We have a website for our adopters: austinpetsalive.ning.com or you can post them to our facebook page. We can’t wait to see the photos! Thanks for adopting a rescue dog from us and giving her such a great home.

Peggy, Great to see your post. We met when you adopted Lily and see you from time to time at the Lakeline PetSmart. I will look forward to seeing your pictures of Lily on the Ning. Your story is helpful as APA is working with the Animal Advisory Commission to move Austin toward No Kill. There will be some important meetings in the next several weeks in front of city council members. We need the public there to tell their success stories about adopting an animal that was scheduled to be euthanized, but is now in a loving and caring family in the Austin area. The Public Health and Human Services Committee meeting is now scheduled for March 1 at City Hall. Please call me if you would like more information. 731-8785 Brad
