Get Your Cuddle On, Foster a Cat!

by JessiFreud • Posted in: Uncategorized

Kitten season is almost upon us, friends, and it’s time we boost our awesome roster of ready-and-willing cat fosters! Fostering cats has so many benefits, especially for those who may have everyday circumstances that restrict them from getting involved in other ways.

Work all day? Cats don’t care. Leave a safe place to play, some water, food, and toys and see you when you get home!

Have a dog that doesn’t like other dogs? Well may be a cat is that friend missing in his or her life. (We cat/dog test, don’t worry!)

Live in a place where you can’t have a dog? Most landlords are way more lenient about tenants having cats.

Can’t financially afford a pet a pet right now? Fostering just requires you, food and litter, and your heart and home. We take care of the expenses.

Lonely on a Wednesday night when all your married friends with kids have grown-up things to do? A cat can be your saving grace and help keep you from looking at baby and wedding photos on Facebook. You know you’ve done that.

Husband, wife, or significant other working too much? A cat can do tons of spousal-type activities and provide the companionship you’re probably lacking in your life. Seriously, there are few reasons why you can’t foster a cat.

We currently stand at only 90 foster homes for cats. This is so few foster homes, we’re starting to get worried. We anticipate that this summer will require us to have at least 700 foster homes for cats so we can sustain our save rate. The number of lives we can save is hampered by the severe foster shortage we’re experiencing now. So, we need you. Desperately. And, immediately.

We need fosters for cats of all ages – from orphaned bottle babies to adult cats. If you haven’t fostered before, this is the best time to start. We hold your hand through the entire process to ensure you and your foster have a great experience. Just because you sign up now, doesn’t mean you have to take an animal right away. If we need you at an inconvenient time, you can pass, and we’ll check back with you at a better time. You just need to be willing to help whenever you can.

Take a minute to learn a bit more about fostering – NOW – and then fill out an application and get approved. We are determined to exceed our success during last year’s season but without foster homes it will be impossible. You keep Austin No Kill just as much as we do. Sign up to foster now.

Fostering a cat is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I can give a cat or kitten the one thing they need more than anything in the world. Time. I can’t say enough good things about the experience. I’m still fostering and man my life and home are so blessed.
