We are excited to announce that Austin Pets Alive! will be moving all our programs to Town Lake Animal Center at 1156 W. Cesar Chavez!
Austin Pets Alive! saved over 11,500 lives from certain death at the City shelter since 2008. The Town Lake Animal Center will both increase our stability and decrease costs associated with operating a decentralized organization, helping us in saving even more lives now and in the future.
The Center will host adoptions and medical/behavioral care for animals most in danger at Austin Animal Center:
- Adoption Center: This center will be the largest of our adoption sites, of which we already have 6 daily dog sites and 10 daily cat sites.
- Behavioral Center: We will be able to rescue pets that we couldn’t take in the past because they wouldn’t do well at our adoption sites in public places (like high energy dogs and shy cats).
- Medical Center: We care for all the animals at APA, 85% of which come into the program with a medical issue.
As a No Kill Austin, we need to figure out how to save ALL the animals that are less than perfect. This center is an important piece to the puzzle. Please consider a donation towards our renovation of the TLAC facility! Check out our wishlist for supplies here.
