Patti is a calm girl who likes to perch in the window and watch the world go by. And because she is petite with little body fat to keep her warm, she is also a smart girl who likes to sit on a heating pad when it is cold! She likes to snuggle with other cats but is content to be off on her own, doing her own thing.
Patti was born with Manx Syndrome, a defect that causes her to be incontinent. This means she needs a compassionate owner who will help her express her urine a few times a day; this sounds harder than it actually is, and APA! will provide instruction on how to do it. Patti also has an untreatable spinal cord injury due to the Manx syndrome, which causes her to have weak back legs. Because of this she moves more like a bunny, using her back legs to hop rather than run; she can actually move quickly and look JUST like a rabbit hopping around! She also loves to chase the laser light and jump up on chairs.
Patti doesn't meow, choosing instead to communicate with her own style of different throat sounds! She must always remain an indoor cat, but she does like to relax outside in a protected, enclosed area, such as a chicken coop (without the chickens) or a rabbit hutch (don't confuse her with the rabbits, though!). She likes small areas where she can feel secure and enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of outside.
If you are looking for a sweet kitty companion with special needs, we think you should meet Patti. She would love to be part of your family! Contact us to meet her today.
All APA! foster kittens/cats are tested for FeLV/FIV, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for worms/fleas, microchipped and come with a 30-day health insurance plan.
