Pam is a wonderful person who gives so much to the most vulnerable animals we have. She gives with her whole heart (and pocket). Thank you Pam!

Tabby: Male/9 years old/very sweet/has been neutered. Used to indoors but I think becoming a barn cat would suit him as well. I must find him a home. I have another older male cat and they do not get along! Please help! Would be willing to make a donation. Thank you!!!

Words spoken with wisdom; adopt a dog no matter what size as they are so appreciative with their unconditional love. Dogs like Thunder live in the moment and they just want to be alongside their master as a comforter, protector and doggie soul mate. Don't pass by this opportunity to share your love.

My dog, Clancey, was 6 mo. old when I found him by the side of a country road in Santa Rosa, CA. Someone had seen him dumped out of a van just before I stopped to get him out of traffic. Much like the situation w/Wags, within 6 mo of finding him, I had a possible clue why he got dumped -- $1100 vet bill for knee surgery. I had him for an all-too-short nine years.

Wags deserved better from her people. Thank goodness for Austin Pets Alive.

It makes me wish I still lived in Austin so I could take part in the many activities they have going on.

I have always had large dogs. When well trained, they are aware of their size, gentle, eager to please. My first huge dog was Kimba who was a great dane. She had heart problems and did not live very long, but the short time she spent with me changed my life for the better. My next foray into big dog adoption came when I saw Rose, a pit bull mix who licked my hand ever so gently and looked longingly at me. I took her home and she lived until she was 9 years old and got cancer. While Rose was alive, we adopted a shar pei mix Sofi, Sofi always had lupus and when she died, Rose followed soon after. Then there was Kupono, my amazing pit bull therapy dog. He was an angel spirit who died of Lymphoma in 2010. I now have a very large Red Bone Coon Hound named Tru. He is only a year and five months old, he is gentle, sweet and truly my best friend in the world! Please consider adopting a large breed dog today.

And those of you who will not change your circumstances in order to keep your furry family member, shame on you! Would you do that to one of your children? I hope not!
