Positive Alternative to Shelter Surrender, working to provide the community with resources in hopes of finding alternatives to relinquishing their family pet to the City’s animal shelter (TLAC). In 2008, APA! aims to make part of this program an APA! Resource Center that will provide a safety net to pet owners and animals in Austin. Spay/Neuter Help Program

Through APA!’s Spay/Neuter Help Program, we pay for the spay/neuter of pets of people who cannot afford the cost of the surgery. Eligibilty is determined based on zip code of residency or certain special needs of a candidate. If you would like to help fund a free spay or neuter, please click the Donations page.

SafePets Care Program

Our SafePets Care Program helps pets of domestic violence victims and short-term stay hospital patients by providing them pet care. When the program began, we established "Tiger's Fund" in memory of Tiger?a cat who, like his guardian, was the victim of domestic violence, but while Tiger's guardian was able to be saved from abuse, help did not arrive in time to save Tiger. Now the program is expanding. Contributions to Tiger's Fund are used for spay/neuter services, boarding, and medical needs of the pets, along with any other necessary needs of the animal companions in SafePets care Care. If you would like to donate, please click the Donations page.

No-Kill Handbill

We have a free, daily electronic newsletter, the No-Kill Handbill, which informs subscribers about dogs and cats in need of rescue or new homes and pet-related events, activities, and information. East Austin Awareness Campaign

Through our East Austin Awareness Campaign, APA! promotes the importance of spay/neuter in the East Austin community. To accomplish this, we advertise spay-neuter resources and produce educational materials. If you would like to donate to support the costs for maintaining our free newsletter, please click the Donations page.
