Do you live in a neighborhood with a feral colony of cats or dogs? We have educational flyers you can print and distribute to your neighbors to help them learn about the importance or spaying or neutering their animals. The colony in your neighborhood probably started when someone moved away and left their cat or dog before getting it "fixed". While you and other kind neighbors offer fresh food and water, these animals meet up with other intact animals and soon have kittens and puppies. These animals have little or no human contact and in most cases are not suitable for adoption. The kittens and puppies mature and have litters of their own. If they are caught and taken to TLAC, they will probably be killed because they have been living wild and are not socialized. The goal of Austin Pets Alive! is to stop this problem while the animals are still "pets" living in a human environment. Please feel free to download this material and tell everyone it is available here. | ||
