Please do not rely
on this page if you are searching for a lost pet!
The APA! Web site
includes just a few of the animals at Town Lake
Animal Center. However, TLAC provides a nearly
complete list of
lost dogs and
cats who
have been brought to the center by Animal Control
or members of the public. This list is normally
updated every night.
Some animals are not
listed on the TLAC page, for various reasons. The
only way to know for sure whether your lost pet is
at Town Lake Animal Center is to go there. The
center is located at 1156 W Cesar Chavez Dr; the
Reclaim Office is open from 11:30 am until 7:00 pm
Monday through Friday and from 11:30 a.m. until
5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
TLAC is the only
impoundment facility in Travis County. If you have
lost your pet, you must go there as soon as
possible to search for and reclaim it. If your pet
arrives at TLAC wearing an identification tag, a
staff member will attempt to reach you. They
cannot assist callers looking for unlicensed
animals by phone, given the large number of
animals they receive. Stray animals are held for a
minimum of three days. Impound fees vary.
if your pet is registered and search the TLAC database of found
animals using the tag number.
Did you know that a city
ordinance requires all dogs and cats to be licensed
through the Pet Registry program? Registering your pet
could save its life. There are many other benefits to
registering your pet. You can register your pets at
many local veterinary clinics or at TLAC. For Pet
Registration information, call the TLAC Pet
Registration Coordinator at 972-6007.
