Austin Pets Alive! Hosts Emergency Cold Weather Adoption Discounts
Non-profit organization to offer adoption donations as low as the frigid temperatures

WHAT: To make room for the increased amount of pets coming into Town Lake Animal Center and shelters throughout Central Texas due to the harsh weather, Austin Pets Alive! will be hosting “Name Your Own Price” adoptions with the minimum donation being the current temperature at the moment of adoption for cats over 6 months of age and dogs over 35 pounds. The organization hopes that with increased adoptions this weekend, they’ll have more room to pull animals at risk of euthanasia at surrounding-area shelters.

WHERE: The APA! Adoption and Resource Center at 2807 Manchaca Road and APA! adoption sites located throughout the city. All locations can be found at

WHEN: Thursday, February 3 through Sunday, February 6. All adoption locations will be open from 12p.m to 6 p.
