Another AMAZING Success Story

Angel in her foster home
Angel in her foster home

This is what APA! is all about.

Angel is a 9-year old shaved Sheltie mix that was turned in to TLAC because the owner who adopted her from TLAC 9 years ago as a puppy went into hospice. Angel is older and was very confused with her new surroundings and was nervous in her TLAC kennel.

Translate … euthanasia list.

We decided to ask our fosters if anyone could take her in to help get her adopted by posting her on Craigslist and any other accessible means as the adoption sites might be a little too stressful for Angel.

Lori generously volunteered and got her adopted in a matter of days to a woman who lives in San Antonio and whose husband is serving in Iraq. Below is a letter from Andi, the adopter, as to how Angel is doing.

Thanks to all our fosters, volunteers and counselors for being so devoted to helping save lives and finding families for our wonderful dogs and cats.

Thanks so much for writing. Yes, we did receive all of the paper work for Angel. Angel is doing great. She made the trip home with no problems, she fell asleep with her head in my daughter’s lap on the way home. When we pulled into the driveway it was like she knew we were home. She was so anxious to get out of the car. When we came inside she ran around the house wagging her tail acting really happy. Within the hour the girls went to bed and Angel got onto my oldest daughter’s bed and went to sleep and didn’t get up until the morning. You are right, she loves to play in the mornings so we have been playing in the mornings and taking her for walks in the morning and evenings. She seems to like Melody because Melody brings Angel her food one piece at a time. With Melody around Angel only needs to get up to go to the bathroom if she wants, ha! Angel and my cat are still trying to establish who is the boss…but I think they will work it out.

Thanks again for all you do and I hope you are blessed by caring for many more animals. It was equally great to meet you and hopefully our paths will cross again. Thanks. Andi
