Princess Paris and The Pea

by Hilary Bentley • Posted in: Pets Needing Homes

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful dog named Paris who needed a home.  She’d had a home once but she lost it, not through any fault of her own, and ended up in a place with lots of strange smells, noises, and dogs and people she’d never met.  There were even some cats there too.

Paris wanted to find someone to trust but she wasn’t so sure.  People came to visit her in her room, where she stayed snuggled up on her soft bed in the corner, not quite ready to sniff hello.  Not until the magical power of a shared breakfast taco, mixed with a little bit of patience and love, coaxed her out.  After all, who can resist the power of a breakfast taco…

Since then, Paris has blossomed, charming more and more lucky people with her sweet, hopeful, and decisive personality.  Paris knows exactly when it’s time for each activity and is happy to share her impressive intuition with you.  First, she will have a walk.  Then, she would like to snuggle with you for awhile.  After snuggling, she will likely be ready for a nap and will saunter over to her bed and tell you farewell until next time.  A princess needs her beauty rest.

Paris also loves the agility equipment in the APA! play yard.  She will dart through the tunnel, appearing on the other side with a sparkle in her warm hazel eyes and a big smile on her gorgeous face.  One of the first times Paris smiled in the days after she lost her home was after a leap over one of the agility hurdles.  A brief glimmer of the dog we’d get to know and love shining through her uncertainty in a moment of abandon.

Paris is ready for her new home now with someone who will make her the center of their world.  She promises to return the favor and to teach you about the simple joys of things like snuggling, walks in the sunshine, a well timed nap, and that perfect shared breakfast taco…
