Towels needed

by admin • Posted in: Donations

If you have any old towels, blankets, or sheets, we would love to take them off of your hands! We’re so low on towels that we might have to buy some with donation money, which we really, really don’t want to do, as that will come directly from the funds we use to pull pets from TLAC and get them the medical care they need. You can drop them off at any of our adoption locations. Thank you, Austin!

I would be glad to buy some secondhand towels/blankets from Savers/Goodwill — I assume we can cut up full size towels and blankets into pieces, since surely a big blanket is too big for a cat? How big should such pieces be?

Thank you so much Anne! It’s actually our dog program that is so desperate for towels and blankets, and keeping them full-sized will work great, as we usually have a whole litter in a pen together at our adoption sites. The towels and blankets give them some cushion on the concrete, but as puppies aren’t potty-trained yet, they go through quite a few. We wash and bleach them all every night, so they tend to break down quickly.

I have a huge bag of towels that a friend, who owns a salon, has given me to donate to APA! I’ll bring them with me tomorrow when I drop off Sophie to be spayed.

Most hotels discard their sheets/towels after a few months or as soon as they become mildly “imperfect”. It would be awesome if we could coordinate between, say, the Four Seasons’ linens throw-aways and APA’s needs. Such waste is rather unconscionable when there is such a market for hotels’ “trash”.
