Austin Pets Alive!, Korey Howell Photography and Austin Monthly present…
A fundraiser benefiting Austin Pets Alive!

Giving Austin’s Homeless Pets a Chance…

Austin Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to eliminating the euthanization of companion animals in Travis County.  Since June 1, APA! has been able to save almost 300 dogs from being killed and has found permanent loving homes for approximately 200 of them (with the rest in foster care.)  Funds raised by the Austin’s Favorite Dog Contest will allow APA! to expand our adoption programs to include cats, and will help us fund a facility that will temporarily shelter animals in our adoption programs so that we can save even more lives.

3 Ways to Help

Enter Your Dog

The first 25 Austin pet-lovers to make a $250 donation to Austin Pets Alive! will get the chance to enter their dog into the photo contest to determine who is Austin’s most lovable dog.  Pet photo sessions will take place September 5-7th and will be published in the October issue of Austin Monthly, with a link to online voting on the APA! web site.  The photo will list your dog’s name, your name and your business name if applicable (For example: ZUKO sponsored by Bridget Taylor of The Mix 94.7 Happy Hour (cute little white dog above.)  Contestants will receive a free 5X7 portrait to take home, in addition to a goodie bag full of coupons and items from our pet-friendly sponsors.

 Vote

Voting will begin October 1st, so be sure to pick up a copy of Austin Monthly or check on the APA! web site to see the list of contestants.  Click on the “Donate Now” tab at the top of the page and search for the dog(s) you want to vote for in the Program drop-down box.  Each dollar donated will count as one vote – you can vote as many times as you want and for as many dogs as you want.  (For example, if you want to cast 10 votes for Zuko, you will need to complete the form and donate $10 for a total of ten votes.  Then, if you also want to vote for another dog, you will need to complete the form again and choose another name in the Program drop-down menu, with your number of additional votes.)  The dog that raises the most money will be crowned Austin’s Favorite Dog and win a great prize package provided by the sponsors.  If you have entered your own dog, go ahead and get all your friends to vote for him/her.

Be a Sponsor

Businesses can show their support for our cause by becoming a “Best in Show” sponsor, helping to offset the costs of the contest and allowing 100% of money raised from contestants and voting to go directly to care of the animals in APA!’s programs.

“Best In Show” Sponsors ($500 sponsorship) receive the following benefits:

·         Business logo featured in Austin Monthly spread, in online AM ad, on the APA! web site (with a link to your web site) and on the individual photo jackets taken home by contestants;

·         Business recognition in all marketing materials, PR and email blasts to publicize the campaign;

·         Opportunity to distribute coupons/goodie bag items to each contestant on the day of their photo shoot, in addition to offering a gift-certificate or exclusive service to the grand prize winner;

·         Special thank-you in all follow-up materials, including acknowledgement of gift contributed to grand prize winning package.
