Big Dog Crisis

by austinpetsalive • Posted in: Adoptions, Donations, Foster, Pets Needing Homes

We need your help.  The city shelter (AAC) is at capacity and we are too.  We have no empty kennels at TLAC and our current fosters are very, very full.

Austin’s No-Kill status is at risk because AAC is negative 35 kennels today for big dogs.  Since our kennels and fosters are full, we have no way to help them which means they will have to euthanize for space.

Bottom line:  if you are not already fostering, we need your help (if you are already fostering, thank you!).

We have needed and still need donations to fund caring for the increase in animals we are serving this year but this post is asking you specifically to foster a big dog for 30 days. Please sign up to be a foster today.  Every kennel at TLAC that we empty into a foster home and fill with a dog on death row at AAC means a life saved.

Please help with the BIG DOG CRISIS OF 2012!  If you cannot foster, please consider make a donation of an item from our wishlist or a monetary donation.

Thank you!
