Survivor: Friend, Family, Forever

by austinpetsalive • Posted in: Adoptions

Next weekend, we’re having a mega-adoption event at the Petsmart on Brodie Lane. We’ve taken in so many (non-evacuee) dogs and cats from area shelters over the last two weeks so that the shelters would have room to hold onto the evacuee strays. We are full and need to get these pets into their new homes!

Here are the details:

September 24-25 11am-6pm
Petsmart Brodie Lane
5207 Brodie Lane – Sunset Valley
$10 Adoptions – Over 200 dogs and cats to adopt.

Will Brodie be available to adopt at the mega event? She is a blue long haired kitten. Thanks!

Stacy, check this link the morning of the event:

Right now, we’re not exactly sure which cats will be at the event because adoptions are happening every day leading up to the event. I don’t want to tell you that she’ll be there and then have her get adopted this week.

Curious about dogs. Will there be dogs not on your website? How much info is there on the dogs from other shelters? Already missed one dog , we are just wanting to prepare ahead of time. Is there any way to see dogs before then?
    Thank you so much,

It’s highly likely that we’ll have some dogs at the event who won’t be on our website yet, as we’ve been pulling in so many lately, our volunteers haven’t been able to keep up. We’ll post the morning of the event the list of dogs who will be there that day. Sorry that we can’t post that sooner. Our adoptions have been pretty high, so we just don’t know until the actual day which dogs we’ll be bringing out.

I am interested in adopting a female kitten. Do you have a list/pictures of kittens to be at your September 24-26 event?

    Thank You

    Hi Ed,
Every morning we post where the cats will be that day. Just check out this page on the mornings you’re thinking of heading over there. So much can change in between now and then with adoptions and new pets entering our program that it’s pretty much impossible for us to come up with a list ahead of time that is guaranteed.

My daughter Sameera (13 yrs old) and I volunteer at APA. Sameera is youth leader for Puppy club. Is there any specific tasks w.r.t Puppies at this event that you believe she can help with? I can bring her for 2-3 hrs in the morning (8 to 11 am). Sameera can also ask members of her club to join. We can help at HQ or at the adoption site- where ever you see her fit. Let us know.

Thank you, Shanti! We’ve sent out a list to our volunteer distribution list with all needs and will be sending out another one today or tomorrow. If you’re not on that yahoo group, you can contact email hidden; JavaScript is required and they can get you set up to help.
