Wow, what a journey it’s been since we first embarked on the ASPCA Challenge on August 1st. Despite record-breaking heat and natural disasters, our staff, volunteers, fosters and adopters have managed to save the lives of countless animals who would have otherwise been euthanized at local shelters. While we’re still awaiting the final adoption tally (and are waiving fees today for all cats/dogs over 3 months!), we just wanted to take a moment to thank the community for the report we’ve received over the last several months.
As inspiration for all those that have been a part of these amazing past three months and for those who may still be looking to adopt, here’s a a quick update on the first adoptee of the Save A Life Drive 2011, Jackson (previously Gorilla), in the words of his adopters:
He has been an amazing addition to our family and he is constantly keeping us on our toes. We actually ran into another APA! puppy at Red Bud last night, and he looks like Jackson did a month ago, it’s amazing how fast he is growing! He is a healthy 40 lbs and all legs!
Thank you again to everyone who has participated in the ASPCA Challenge and to all who have helped save a life. The (previously) homeless cats and dogs of Central Texas are forever grateful!
