Doga is coming to APA! Lori Koska from Total Wellness Austin will be donating her time to teach Doga classes (dog yoga!) weekly at our at Austin Pets Alive! Adoption and Resource Center. These classes are only for APA! volunteers & APA! dogs currently up for adoption at our facility.
What is Doga? According to Lori:
Doga is a form of yoga that combines massage as well gentle stretching for dogs and their human partners. Doga can be done in a class or one on one with your dog. Not only does Doga benefit you and your pet’s health, but it also helps strengthen the bond between you and your dog. Some people find that when practicing Doga with their dog regularly their dog becomes more responsive to training and to their owner’s verbal commands.
If it were not for our pets we may not receive the exercise we need. We as humans can learn a lot from the way animals move. Doga is a chance to reconnect with our animal physicality as well as recondition the body.
If you are interested in doing doga with your own dog, you can contact Total Wellness Austin to set up a private doga session at their studio. They will donate $20 of every $35 private session to APA if you reference APA when they sign up for the session! Visit their website at: http://totalwellnessaustin.com/doga.
