so happy

Professional Dog Trainer, Robin Cupell of The Trailer Bark  has officially agreed to partner with the Healthy Dogs, Healthy People program to help us expand our behavior and enrichment component! Here is a look at how Healthy Dogs, Healthy People will be working to provide a support system for the dogs in our care:

Behavior and Enrichment Work at the APA! Trail Site!
Robin joins the HDHP Volunteers each weekend at the LBL Trail Site  to work with our dogs and support volunteers in proper dog handling techniques. The dogs spend time out in a beautiful, natural setting where they get exercise, socialization, and the opportunity to practice their skills and manners!

HDHP Behavior and Enrichment Team!
Members of the Behavior and Enrichment Team receive special training from Robin and are assigned to work with an APA! dog with the focus placed on our dogs identified as high need. B&E Team members work with their assigned dog both on-site and during off-site “field trips” using a program geared to the specific dog’s needs.

Training Seminars for APA! Fosters, Staff, and Volunteers!
Robin will also be offering free training seminars designed specifically for APA! Fosters to help the dogs be successful in a home environment, and for staff and volunteers to help us best support the dogs in our care.

Reduced Price Training Classes for APA! Adoptees!
Robin is offering half-priced group training classes and in-home training and consultation for all dogs adopted through APA!.

The Healthy Dogs, Healthy People program loves the fun, fitness centered part of our program at the LBL Trail Site. But we also love the behavior and enrichment support we’re going to be able to offer our dogs just as much. We hope to have a positive impact on their well-being while they’re with APA! and help them to be successful when they leave us to be part of their forever families!
