The Stockings were Hung by the Kennels with Care…

Last Saturday approximately 20 children and their parents graciously donated their time and artistic talent to decorate stockings at Austin Pets Alive with Whitney Miller, the current Miss United States.  Whitney has chosen Austin Pets Alive as one of a few charities that she will be devoting her time and attention to during the course of her reign as Miss United States.
The glitter, paint, google-y eyes, colored puff balls and markers that covered the tables were quickly put to use to create one of a kind stockings. Each participant had the chance to create at least one, if not two, or even three stockings.  Once decorated, Whitney accompanied the children and their families to the APA Dog Adoption courtyard where the stockings were hung with great choice and care on the dog kennels throughout the facility.
The stockings will hang on the kennels until Christmas, waiting to be filled by the community with dog treats and toys to help provide the animals of Austin Pets Alive a Merry Christmas.  You are invited to come help stuff the stockings any time from 5:00-7:00 pm Monday-Sunday this week – there’s a good chance you’ll see Whitney there at least once with stocking stuffers for the animals.  Bring toys and treats to your heart’s delight. Merry Christmas to all (especially the animals of APA) and to all a good night.
