Stephanie Muller-Simpson

Deputy Chief of Philanthropy

Stephanie Muller-Simpson first worked at Austin Pets Alive! from 2019-2020 as a Maddie's® Executive Leadership Fellow to Dr. Ellen Jefferson before rejoining the team as Deputy Chief of Philanthropy in 2021.

Stephanie has been working in animal sheltering since 2005 when she took a part-time animal care attendant position at a municipal shelter which led her to a career dedicated to saving animals. Years later, there isn't a shelter department in which she hasn't worked, giving her a unique and well-rounded perspective during her time as an animal shelter consultant for organizations across the nation. Just prior to her arrival at APA!, Stephanie was Executive Director of a Chicago-area animal shelter where she led the organization to exponential growth in all measurable areas and implemented strategic and sustainable solutions for long-term success.

In addition to her work leading the philanthropy team at APA!, Stephanie is passionate about helping small shelters increase the impact of their mission, advocating for community and sheltered cats, and volunteering with rescued farm animals. She currently lives in Austin with her husband and their adopted cats.
