Clampett might have the name of a rambunctious family, but he is one chill dude. This kitty has seen a thing or two and knows better than to get riled up over every little thing. There's no demanding of affection from him - he's content to wait patiently near you for head scratches and cheek rubs. Once you've noticed him, he's more than happy to be picked up, placed in your lap, and receive any pets you're willing to give. Clampett isn't about to win any awards for most toy mousy attacks or feather wand demolition, as he would much rather just sit in a window and watch the world go by.
Clampett's calm extends into his dealings with other felines. He wonders why we all can't just get along and stays out of conflicts in the sanctuary. He even seems to enjoy relaxing with the other cats. He hasn't been around dogs or children, but most likely would be fine with very calm dogs or older children; so long as they're gentle and understand that the most important thing is chilling out, everyone should get along fine. Clampett's perfect home would be one that can appreciate a relaxed cat with a mild disposition and give him the affection and window ledges that he deserves.
Clampett is FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus), which causes a weakened immune system and requires special care. APA! provides some medical assistance after adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan. Clampett is not contagious to people or dogs, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
