Not long ago, Austin Pets Alive! took in eight (count 'em, eight) cats whose owner had just passed away. Seven of them have been adopted. We'd like you to meet number eight. His name is Lily. Yes, "His." And yes, "Lily."
Having lived with so many cats, Lily does just fine with newcomers of his species, but isn't all that interested in snuggling or playing. It's as if he's saying, "Hello there, my name is Lily. Yes...yes...Lily. I get asked that a lot. What do you say we just sit for a while on this nice, soft carpet and take in all the interesting things that are going on in the house? Which reminds me, when's dinner?"
Of course, Lily has had plenty of experience with humans as well, so he's perfectly comfortable in their presence...although his preference seems to be sitting NEXT to them rather than ON them. Either way, he's very pleasant company.
Lily's back is somewhat tender, and he has a bit of arthritis in his hips for which he takes supplements and pain meds. So if his new home does have any children, we'd recommend the gentler the better.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
