Independent, Sweet, Playful

If there's one thing about Myrtle that many of us can relate to, it's that she loves her quiet time! This independent calico is definitely on the shy side, but she has shown phenomenal improvement in warming up to people and letting her sweet personality shine.

Before settling in to her foster home, it was likely that Myrtle had not lived with humans before, so she can become easily scared by sudden movements and being picked up. However, Myrtle is still very curious about her surroundings and loves to play.

Toys (especially catnip filled ones) and scratch posts are a couple of Myrtle's favorite things! She loves to scratch her post and toss her toys around, although she'd prefer to do these activities on her own instead of with humans. When she's in an active mood, Myrtle will run around the house, which she loves to do with the other cat she's currently living with.

Myrtle gets along very well with other cats, and she would definitely prefer a forever home where she has an active kitty companion. She doesn't mind being around dogs as long as they respect her space, but large dogs might send her retreating to a nice, safe hiding spot. Kids are too overwhelming for Myrtle, so she would be happiest in a quiet home - Myrtle would be the perfect fit for elderly folks or frequent travelers!

Myrtle's shy personality makes her a very low-maintenance, well-mannered cat. She doesn't scratch anything she shouldn't, is a very neat eater and litter box user, and likes to lounge in only a few preferred spots around the house, minimizing hair. She meows every now and then and purrs loudly when she's happy or nervous. As she's working on becoming more comfortable around people, she may even turn into a cuddler one day!

A quiet place to escape, a kitty companion, and people who are as easy going as she is are all that Myrtle's looking for in her forever home! If you're looking for a sweet, quiet girl, ask about meeting Myrtle today!
