Introducing Hydra!! This sweet fella had a rough road in his first few months of life but is now getting his chance to be a kitten and is LOVING IT!!
Hydra had been in a cage since he was two months old. Only recently, when he came to Austin Pets Alive! did he discover the joys of being free - but you'd never know it by looking at him! He's amazing, sweet, and perfect, and immediately made himself at home in the APA! Feline Leukemia (FeLV) ward. Now he is in a foster home where he has even more space to explore and he's so stoked on life, having all this room to run around in!
Hydra LOVES to play!! Like really REALLY loves to play! Who can blame him? Now that he has the room to roam, it's playtime all the time. He's the kind of dude who wants to play until he's tired and THEN he will snuggle with you!
And did we mention how handsome he is? What a looker!! He has those sweet eyes and the perfect symmetrical markings on his forehead. His stripes are so beautiful! Just look at the photos? That is a kitty who is loving life and is irresistibly adorable!!
So what would Hydra's ideal home be? Somewhere with LOTS of love, attention, and affection! Maybe with some kids to keep him busy. He hasn't met any dogs that we are aware of but all indications are he would be happy with a canine sibling. He needs and deserves a home where he will receive - and where he will be able to give - endless amounts of entertainment and LOVE!
Hydra has tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV). It is possible for kittens six months and younger to shed this virus completely and test negative, so Hydra will be re-tested for FeLV at his six month birthday, at which time a definitive diagnosis can be assured. Until then, Hydra should live with no other cats or kittens to ensure the virus is not passed. Hydra is available for adoption now to adopters who can accommodate a feline leukemia positive, or negative, cat as he is not yet of age to have a definitive test. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
