Meet Hydra! This orange tabby is an affectionate purrer who loves his daily cuddles in the morning and evenings. He enjoys chilling out on the couch watching TV with his human (and he may even give you a kitty "massage"!) when he is not getting his energy out with some playtime with feather toys, balls, ribbons, and strings.
Stretching his claws and manicuring his nails on a carpet condo is right up his alley and would be a strong asset in his new home. Since he is young, he doesn't yet realize that humans aren't also toys and likes to wrestle around for fun, so he will need someone who can provide him with plenty of toys, or even a feline playmate, while he is learning what is allowed in the playing field. Because he might nibble or accidentally scratch while playing, little humans should be supervised around him.
His curiosities about humans include hanging out in the bathroom wondering why we douse ourselves with water and admiring delicious odors and nuances of food, though he loves his cat meals and with a kind meow, will let you know when he is hungry.
Hydra is FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus), which causes a weakened immune system and requires special care. APA! provides some medical assistance after adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan. He is not contagious to people or dogs, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats.
