Poor Cafecita has been through a lot! She came to us from Palm Valley as a stray pregnant mom. After she had her kittens, she developed mastitis (a painful breast infection) and wasn't able to continue nursing her babies, so we had to take them away and hand-feed them.
Cafecita has now recovered from her mastitis, but she is understandably timid around people and new situations. She's not aggressive, but she does need a calm, quiet environment and a patient, understanding person who will give her the time she needs to learn to trust and let go of her fear. She would do best in a home with adults and no other pets.
Since being in foster, Cafecita has started opening up more. She is still timid, but enjoys being petted, when she feels safe she will lean in to be petted and start purring and making biscuits. She likes to be in the same room as her foster, and seems a lot more comfortable and less scared. She even eats treats right out of her foster mom's hand! With the right adopter and a little patience, we think Cafecita will blossom into a sweet, loving kitty.
Can you give this sweet girl a chance to learn what it's like to be a beloved kitty companion? We think she'd be ever so grateful!
