With a name like "Yeehaw" you'd expect this gray female tabby to be the world's only rodeo-performing cat. You'd be wrong, but that's what you'd expect. On the other hand, like the performing-cat variety, this Yeehaw does love to scamper back and forth between your legs as you're walking across the kitchen to the fridge, or down the hall to check the thermostat. It's kind of a hoot.
When not playing dodge-em with your legs, Yeehaw will most likely be found cuddling up next to you on the couch or your bed, assuming you're already there. If you aren't, she'll remind you of what a good idea it would be with insistent meows and head nudges. Just being with people seems to be Yeehaw's definition of play. String toys and squeaky mice need not apply. At least not for now.
One particular Yeehaw feature that's pretty hard to miss is her bizarre two-tone appearance. Some mysterious reaction that stumped the vet caused her to lose the fur on the aft portion of her body, while up-front her gray tabby coat stayed factory fresh. Thankfully, her fur is starting to grow back in as an adorable peach fuzz, but it could be a while until it's up to fluff. It's hoped that switching to a hypoallergenic diet may speed things up a bit.
We suspect just about any family situation would be a good fit for Yeehaw. Kids and dogs have not entered her world yet, but her brief playdates with the resident household cat went quite well. And with an inclusive personality like Yeehaw's, "the more the merrier" will very likely be her mantra.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
