Tentative, Sweet, Quiet

Chadwick is a tender soul in a tuxedo'd body. He's what you'd call a "sweet baby angel" - he can be shy at first, but with time, he warms up and loves to be around his person. Life can be pretty overwhelming when you're a little cat in a big world, so Chadwick likes to take his time to scope things out and get to know people. He's happiest when he's got a trusted, proven buddy, and a safe place for him to curl up if things get to be too much. Once he knows that you're a friend, he loves getting pets and will make sure to purr extra loud so you know how happy he is! He has no problem flashing you his big welcoming eyes. He's got a great gaze that always ends in cuddles. Chadwick is a moderate play time fan. He does love playing "catch the string", but he also enjoys chilling on the couch while you watch your favorite TV show. He's a pro at sleeping under blankets and sitting atop of pillows. Chadwick isn't much of a talker either. He figures he can communicate in purrs and affectionate kitty headbutts.

Chadwick has yet to meet any children, but given his timid approach, he'd probably prefer a quiet home with people who understand that sometimes a cat just needs his alone time. He tolerates dogs as long as they can give him a little bit of space and privacy. He'd particularly love a home with lots of nooks and crannies to curl up in and some big window for sun naps. His low-key companion style would be perfect for a person living solo or a couple.

Chadwick is from Palm Valley Animal Shelter, as part of APA's ongoing effort to help other communities become no-kill. This effort is both part of and a perfect example of the work that is being done through our new Maddie's Lifesaving Academy, aimed at helping communities across the country build or bolster their own no-kill communities through apprenticeships.
