Calvin is a man of great mystery. We don't know why he's so shy; he just is. He's clearly happy to be in a comfortable foster home, but he'd simply prefer to be left alone and not interact with his foster or the adult cat and dog there.
He does come out and explore when his foster is asleep or gone. She recently discovered him in her sink and even on her bed! And after a few months in her home, he's slowly starting to warm up to the point where he might sit at the entrance to the room she's in without immediately running back to his hiding spot when she looks at him.
He enjoys his catnip toys and keeps them with him under the bed where he hides. He may play quietly with them there, but he doesn't bat and chase them all around the house.
Given lots of time and patience, Calvin may eventually become more willing to spend a little face time with his person. But then again, he might not. We just don't know. He would do best as the only pet in a quiet, patient adult home with good hiding spots.
Would you like to give Calvin the gift of a quiet home where he can feel safe to progress at his own speed to whatever point is comfortable for him? We think he'd be ever so grateful!
