It's not surprising that the name Drusilla means "dewy-eyed". Just look at those soulful, lovely peepers! What's behind them is a sweet, shy kitty who is in the process of learning how good it feels to trust and love. She's in the middle stages right now and has come so far from where she started. We've witnessed her becoming increasingly calm and accepting of love...it's a beautiful thing to see. We can hardly wait for the next phase, the forever home crescendo...it will be even grander!
It's best to take it slow with Drusilla to reassure her that you're not trying any funny stuff. Go easy and she'll accept gentle head pets, and you'll be rewarded with earning her trust and getting to touch her extra soft fur!
Drusilla came to the shelter with her passel of kittens. Whew...that motherhood business sure was a lot of work! She's so glad to have parenting behind her and now have time for herself. She likes to be the solo lady these days and enjoys hanging out in her cat cave and watching the world go by.
We haven't seen Drusilla around kiddos. Older, respectful children would be okay if they understand and respect Drusilla's need for them to go nice and easy. She will give a warning swat, without claws, if you come on too strong. She's not trying to hurt anyone, just her way of letting you know she'd like you to take a step back and gave her some space.
Are you ready to take Drusilla to the next and ultimate level?! That's the glorious one where she fully discovers that people can be trusted and that opening up her heart feels so good. She would need a calm, low-traffic household where she is the only pet, and a patient family who will let her come out of her shell when she's good and ready. In return, you'll get a laid back, low-maintenance kitty who will honor you with her love, and who will think you're the best thing that ever happened to her. And, you know what? She'll be absolutely right!
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
