Chinchilla-soft, chatty, total love bug

Samhain is a super-soft, loving lap cat whose favorite thing is to wrap his paw around your leg or arm and fall asleep with his head on your lap. He loves to be held and even enjoys belly rubs. He'll happily sleep right next to you if you let him.

Samhain loves dogs! When he was lost outside, he got himself rescued by running up to a woman walking a dog so he could love on the dog! He's good with female cats, but does not like male cats.

Samhain can be very playful, especially after a hit of catnip. He only plays in short bursts and then sleeps for hours. He does occasionally nip or swat at your heel if he gets overstimulated or is starved for attention, so he's not the best fit for young children.

Samhain will greet you when he sees you, come when you call him and answer you when you talk to him. He's quite chatty and chirpy, and purrs almost all the time! He'll often follow you around just so he can be near you.

Samhain seems to get lonely easily, so he would do best in a home with someone who is around much of the time and who wants a very social, affectionate cat. He seems to bond quickly and easily with human companions. He'd love to have his very own dog to keep him company when his people are busy.

Samhain has tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). FeLV cats have a virus that causes a weaker immune system - they do not have cancer! For the most part, felvies are just like any other cat. You could not pick one out of the crowd, and they generally do not require much additional care. As a bonus, we waive their adoption fees! APA! provides full coverage and treatment for any FeLV-related issues that arise after the time of adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan - we like to compare it to the lifespan of adopting a senior kitty, with the added benefit that they don't have chronic senior health problems, and that FeLV-related medical care is covered. Samhain is not contagious to people, dogs or other animals, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
