Cuddly, Playful, Curious

How do you know when Laurie Strode has hit her stride? Sit down and prop your legs up, soon enough you'll have no doubt...she's hit it in a big way, or should we say, a cuddly one! Your lap is her happy place and she will eagerly and expertly join you there, getting all comfy, purring away, then drifting off to sleep...zzz! When it's officially bedtime, she'll pick a spot on your bed to curl up for sweet dreams; and in the morning, you'll likely find her on your pillow, sweetly snoozing right beside you!

Laurie was shy when she first arrived at her foster home. We think she may never have had an owner or experienced the comfort and security of being a member of a household. But, she quickly learned the ropes and has become the most loving, caring cat. She's even volunteered for the role of guard kitty, bravely checking out any suspicious noise in the house. She really is such a sweetheart! When young kiddos visit, she always wants to cuddle up with them. She gets along great with other cats and really enjoys having a kitty playmate. She hasn't had much experience with dogs. But, she's curious and seems interested in making new, furry friends.

Laurie will play with pretty much any toy. She especially likes her little football and her catnip stuffed bird. She loves playing chase and will run after hair ties or toys that you throw her. She has conveniently created her own playtime schedule...designated entertainment times are after each meal, before bed and post-nap! She has such a cute, quiet meow when she wants you. Meow back and she'll continue the chat! One of Laurie's coolest features is her combination of furry polka dots on her belly and stripes on her legs, you never get tired of looking at her pretty, tabby coat!

Laurie is such a snuggly darling who would enjoy a household where there is plenty of lap time and play sessions. She'd fit into most any loving home with humans of all ages, as long as they are kind and bring on the affection! She would be happiest in a home that includes another playful cat, so she'll have a kitty friend to pal around with and love.

Laurie has tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). FeLV cats have a virus that causes a weaker immune system - they do not have cancer! For the most part, felvies are just like any other cat. You could not pick one out of the crowd, and they generally do not require much additional care. As a bonus, we waive their adoption fees! APA! provides full coverage and treatment for any FeLV-related issues that arise after the time of adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan - we like to compare it to the lifespan of adopting a senior kitty, with the added benefit that they don't have chronic senior health problems, and that FeLV-related medical care is covered. Laurie is not contagious to people, dogs or other animals, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
