Cinder may have started his life as a homeless outdoor kitty, but he clearly knew he was destined for a better life! He chose the backyard of a kind couple as his hangout, so they could trap him and have him neutered. Then he took up residence in their screened-in back porch, which they furnished with a soft bed, cat tree, and all kinds of awesome cat toys! He started staying there every night, enjoying dinner, playtime, and cuddles with his people. He enjoyed a nice breakfast before going out into the yard for the afternoon, and he faithfully returned every evening.
Cinder even started tapping on the porch glass door in an attempt to play with the couple's indoor kitties! Sadly, he can't do that because he's FELV+ and they are not, so Cinder is now at APA's FELV Sanctuary, awaiting the arrival of his new forever family!
Cinder clearly loves people! He may be a bit timid until he gets to know you, but once he does, his heart is yours! He used to meow and tap on the porch glass door to let his people know he wanted their attention. He enjoys having a conversation, and meows back if you talk to him. If you're sitting down, he'll lie on your feet or jump up next to you to let you know he wants pets. He also likes to be near you when he's eating, so he can come to you for a head rub between bites. He loves a good all-over kitty massage, and will even let you rub his sweet belly!
Cinder is still young and very playful. He loves his cat tunnel, boxes, his cat tree, and anything else he can climb on or into. He's partial to wand toys, too. He even has impeccable litter box manners. He clearly would enjoy another kitty companion. We haven't seen him with dogs or kids. Loud noise and sudden movements scare him, so rowdy dogs and young kids might be too much for him.
Cinder has tasted the good life, and now he so much wants to have a forever family! He will be such a loyal and loving companion to them. He needs a forever family that has the time to lavish him with the playtime, attention, and love he craves. His family will need to be vigilant about addressing health issues quickly.
