With his goofy charm and ridiculous amount of enthusiasm, Brother is ready to be your workout buddy, adventurer and loyal friend. Brother is looking for someone who will team up with him and explore all that Texas has to offer. His favorite activities include always wagging his tail, swimming, hiking, running in circles and playing the barking game at shadows and skateboarders going TOO fast! He's an active pup but isn't opposed to curing up and watching some Netflix (preferably with his favorite toy, Teddy), and in his downtime he excels in snuggling, licking faces/ears and being your #1 fan!

Brother doesn't chew things he shouldn't (with the expectation of paper bags, because who can resist?) and he sleeps quietly in his crate through the night. He's a smart pup and already knows "sit," "stay," "back up," "lay down" and "vacuum" (where he cleans up all the yummy snacks off the floor, except carrots, gross).

Brother really seems to love learning and is thriving in APA!'s Total Obedience Program. The Total Obedience Program (TOP) is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. As a TOP dog, Brother has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help him learn the skills to become the best dog he can be! He is learning more skills like "leave it", walking nicely on leash, sitting calmly when approached by strangers or other dogs, staying in a sit or down until told "free," coming when called and "Place", which means he will go to a specific place in your home on command.

Once he successfully completes all the skills on his training plan, Brother will be considered TOP Dog Ready! Brother is working hard to become a wonderful companion, and as a part of APA's Total Obedience Program you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with Brother after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together. Check out a video on APA's CGC program, on which the TOP was based:

Brother is buckets of fun and will win you over with his passion for living life to the fullest. He has a ridiculous amounts of enthusiasm and more than anything is looking for a home where he can be speedy and active. If that sounds like yours, come make Brother your playmate for life!
