In addition to being a total snuggle-bug, Penny is an A-student in her Canine Good Citizen class. She's learning a number of skills that will help her adjust easily into her new home. Working alongside her personal trainer, she is proving to be a quick study. So far she has learned a number of commands such as "sit and "down and to come when called. Dogs in APA's CGC program also learn to walk nicely on leash, sit calmly when approached by strangers or another dog, won't approach people or dogs without permission and greet people appropriately. As long as you've got treats, Penny will show you the tricks!
When Penny's not working on her skills, she's busy loving up on her volunteer friends and taking strolls around the ball fields. She loves to run, walk, swim and chase after balls. So if you need an exercise buddy, she's up for the job!
Penny hasn't been observed in the home yet, but she sure likes to keep her kennel tidy which shows a lot of promise that she'll be a great little house dog. She could also potentially go home to a well-matched doggie sibling!
So what do you say? Why not meet Penny today and see all the riches she has to offer?
And as part of APA's CGC program you can work with APA to continue to build a training relationship with Penny after adoption and get officially CGC certified for free! Check out a video about CGC: https://vimeo.com/89434193
