Migos' default position is upside down, wiggling around like a goofball. He gets really excited over big plastic balls and rope toys, but also tends to make strange things his "precious" like stumps or rocks - he will leave them if asked, but sometimes he just has a thing for that random brick laying around. Another of Migo's standout quirks is he likes to go "grass swimming," - he lays on the grass and scooches around on his belly to swim! He enjoys that almost as much as real-life belly rubs and he'll make fast friends with anyone willing to give them (He has a perfectly smooth belly so it's impossible to resist).
Migos has a lot of energy to burn and likes to stay on the move. He loves his time on the trail, and then when he's all tuckered out, he becomes very snuggly with his friends. He also loves going to playgroup and enjoys playing with his canine buddies, and he may get along with a well-matched doggie sibling.
A quick learner, Migos already knows "sit" and "down", he walks well on leash and is learning a bunch of new skills in APA!'s Total Obedience Program. The Total Obedience Program (TOP) is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. As a TOP dog, Migos has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help him learn the skills to become the best dog he can be! Migos is learning skills like sitting calmly when approached by strangers or other dogs, staying in a sit or down until told "free," coming when called and "Place", which means he will go to a specific place in your home on command.
Once Migos successfully completes all the skills on his training plan, he will be considered TOP Dog Ready! Migos is working hard to become a wonderful companion, and as a part of APA's Total Obedience Program you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with Migos after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together. Migos would be perfect for someone who likes to hike or run the trails and he'd love a yard with some grass to swim around in (Hopefully he'll leave the bricks alone). Come meet this great pup!
