Check out Gino's Videos!

Gino could easily be mistaken for a puppy because of his size and his spunkiness - he is always in happy mode with his tail wagging a million miles a minute!

Gino has bursts of energy, but he's generally a mellow pup who loves cuddling with you on the couch and getting belly rubs and neck scratches. As much as he enjoys chilling with his people, Gino's also up for a good game of chase. And if you're looking for a walking buddy, grab your leash because Gino's always ready to roll! He does wonderfully on leash and enjoys checking out the sights and smells, and nothing you encounter along the way will faze him in the slightest. Gino is also fully house-trained, and while he's not a fan of being crated, he doesn't need to be because has impeccable manners in the home!

Gino is also thriving in APA!'s Total Obedience Program where he's learning all kinds of great skills. The Total Obedience Program (TOP) is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. As a TOP dog, Gino has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help him learn the skills to become the best dog he can be! Gino is learning skills like down, sitting calmly when approached by strangers or other dogs, staying in a sit or down until told "free," coming when called and "Place", which means he will go to a specific place in your home on command.

Once he successfully completes all the skills on his training plan, Gino will be considered TOP Dog Ready! He is working hard to become a wonderful companion, and as a part of APA's Total Obedience Program, you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with Gino after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together. Check out a video on APA's CGC program, on which the TOP was based:

If your ideal evening is a nice long stroll followed by a quiet night in watching Netflix, Gino will be thrilled to meet you!
