He may look like a big guy, but Bob Barker is an easy-going and gentle friend and an expert at the "puppy-dog eyes". It's impossible to walk past without giving him head scratches because he looks at you like that's all he needs to make his day complete. And he loves getting scratches on either side of his head, just below his ears where you'll get the full benefit of his soft fur. And he'll lean into your chest and give you kisses for as long as you'll let him. He's a laid-back kind of guy, who just wants to know what you're doing so he can do it with you.

Bob is good with other dogs and just needs a day or two to get comfortable with them. His foster brother (3 year old Basset mix) and sister (12 year old Australian Shepherd mix) are about his same size and energy level, and he gets along well with them. Rescued from a hoarding situation in North Texas, Bob can be a little shy with new men, but once you've gained his trust, he is an avid cuddler. He seems to be most trusting of adult female strangers, and he will smile at women passing by until they pet him. After a little time to get aquainted, Bob is the most affectionate, sweet gentleman.

While Bob is relatively low energy, he perks up when he's outside and does very well on a leash. Despite some weakness in his rear legs, which have gotten a lot better since he's been in foster, he loves walking and smelling everything. On walks he becomes a different guy. As long as he's moving and has something to sniff, he is one happy pup.

Bob does well in a large crate and settles down quickly and stays quiet through the night. He's very well-mannered and quick to learn what he is and isn't allowed to do. And he loves crinkly toys. He's not much for the squeaky ones, but he really likes to pull and and chew to make that crinkle sound.

Bob is looking for a gentle person who will snuggle and protect him. He would be a great assistant to an avid gardener as he loves to be outside investigating things at his own pace. Bob isn't looking for much - a loving home with a soft bed and someone to cuddle with will make him the happiest dog in the world. Come meet this sweet boy!
