Check out Gibson's Videos!

We don't think Gibson had much in-home experience before arriving at the shelter, but he's now living in an APA foster home and quickly learning to enjoy a life of love and comfort. He's becoming more carefree in the best possible ways and seems to be re-living his puppy years, all while having the manners and knowledge of a mature dog.

A lovable goofball who enjoys all types of company, Gibson has done great with every dog he's met. Gibson's whole body wiggles when he's happy, and he gets so excited when he sees his doggy friends coming over to play. He's lived with a couple chihuahuas for a few weeks and was very gentle in his play style to match their size. He also has a wonderful friendship going with the neighbor's Boston Terrier. They play non-stop, and he knows how to be gentle when they wrestle. He's very aware of the cues that other dogs give and is willing to give them space if they ask for it. Though he doesn't have any experience with cats, with his gentle nature, we think he might be good with them too and would probably be overjoyed if a kitty wanted to play or cuddle with him.

Gibson wants to be where his people are at all times, and if they aren't sitting down, he isn't either. But whether you're sitting or standing, he'll lean his face on you until you pet him. If you're sitting on the floor, he'll lean his head into your chest for scratches and enjoys being hugged. And he really loves having his face pet. If you start rubbing his face and ears he will immediately close his eyes and relax the whole weight of his head on you.

Gibson isn't shy with new people and loves meeting strangers. He's also great with kids, and when he met a two year-old family member, he was very gentle and seemed aware of the baby's size and made sure not to knock him over.

Gibson is fully house-trained, goes into his crate with very little prompting and walks well on leash while wearing his harness. He's a fairly medium energy dog, and while he's very happy to laze around the house with his people, he also LOVES being outside. His favorite activities are running around the backyard, going on walks and hiking, and he's endlessly fascinated by all the new sights and smells.

This goofy guy comes with some adorable quirks too. He's always splayed about in weird positions, and he snores in his sleep and seems to dream a lot. He has a very tiny tail that he can't wag very easily, so he just wags his entire body instead. He wiggles uncontrollably when he first comes out of his crate, but he also knows if sits or lays down, that's when he gets pets, so he makes himself sit right away to get some love.

Gibson would love an active home with people who will include him in their activities, and he'd love a backyard and a doggie sibling or two, as he really seems to thrive with their companionship. With his sweet, adaptable personality, Gibson would make a wonderful addition to any number of loving families. Come meet this great pup!
