Friendly, Affectionate, Curious

Meet dashing Doogie! He is so handsome in his sleek tuxedo and white-tipped paws. Despite his ball-ready appearance, he tends to keep things pretty informal...enjoying nice naps and spending time in the company of his humans!

Doogie likes being near you and will follow his person around the house when he is interested in affection or attention. He is not a lap cat, but he definitely likes having you nearby. Put a fuzzy blanket on the couch next to you and Doogie will be glad to show you his biscuit making skills. His are the best!

If Doogie feels neglected he may seek you out, especially around bedtime and first thing in the morning. While he does like to spend a large part of his day power napping in a cozy hiding spot - under the bed, under a coffee table or even in a closet - he likes playing too! More so with people than by himself. He loves any toy that his humans operate. If you wave around a feathery wand toy he will show you his impressive skills. He will chase it around and leap surprisingly high! He can get a little aggressive during playtime and may accidently scratch you if you are in his way or may inadvertently scratch a wall or furniture. But, he is very easily redirected.

Doogie likes when you pet his gorgeous coat and he loves getting head and chin scratches. See the beautiful and alluring white stripe on his tummy? Don't pet it, it's a trap! This boy does not like belly rubs. He doesn't like being picked up either. But, he definitely wants you to keep the pets coming! He isn't a particularly vocal kitty. When he does meow, it's often around mealtime. His purr is another story! He turns his purr-motor on and keeps it running when he's getting pets and scritches!

Doogie gets along with cats and dogs. He would probably enjoy a home that includes a furry friend to help him get his energy out and to hang out with when his humans are busy. Doogie is litterbox trained, so no worries there. He has recently been practicing hairstyling skills on his foster when she lies down, mostly grooming with an occasional little nip. Most likely he wants to make sure his humans look as spiffy as he does!

Doogie's ideal home would include one or more humans who will play with him regularly and who would enjoy giving him pets and attention. He would be a wonderful fit for someone who is looking for a companion kitty who likes to be near, but not in your lap. Ready to meet this debonair sweetie? Contact us to schedule an introduction!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
