Snuggle-bug, Curious, Chill

Electric Slide is perfectly named! As you walk from room to room, he will run after you and then sliiiiiiide on the (uncarpeted) floor to catch up with you. Hilarious!

Electric Slide is the friendliest kitty - and, as you can tell, he loves to be with his people, whether you are sleeping, working, cooking, or cleaning! You will always know what he wants; when he wants pets, he will gently put his paw on your arm or touch your face; when he wants his belly pet, he will nuzzle your hand and then roll onto his back and streeeeeetch until his paws touch you. He is a champion snuggler and will purr away, especially if you hold him and let him nuzzle into your neck. He's a lovebug! If you need to work, he is happy to sit on a chair next to you and sleep.

Slide will make you feel like the most special person in the world!

When Slide arrived in his foster home, he immediately went around and carefully examined every square inch; then he found a cozy and private place to hang out for a while. But as soon as it was bedtime, he hopped onto the bed with his foster mom, assumed the cuddle position, and pretty much purred non-stop for the next 24 hours!

He spends his day napping, looking out the window, and doing as much snuggling with you as possible. But move the wand toy around or give him a catnip kick toy, and he's ready to play! He is happy to spend quality time with his kick toy while you watch TV in the evening; as for the wand toy, we think "Slide & the Wand Toy" could be the basis for a Netflix series! Here's how one brilliant episode would go:

First scene: Slide hides on one side of the room, zooms out and jumps super high to catch it, and then retreats to the other side of the room. Repeat!
Cut to: Slide dragging it around with him while he zooms!
Last scene: Slide is under the bed with it, fast asleep and using the feathers as his pillow.

Electric Slide may hide when he first meets new people, but is quick to warm up and ask for pets. He may give the occasional love bite. He met a big, calm dog once who was uninterested in Slide. Slide kept his distance and was wary but was otherwise indifferent to the presence of the dog.

Electric Slide is great at using his scratching mat, and likes for you to keep his litter box clean. He's a surprisingly dainty boy!

With the stripes and rings and whorls and swirls on his gorgeous coat, Slide reminds us of a combination of an ocicat and a Classic Tabby! Striped legs, spots on his side, a stripe down his back, fluffy white paws, a black-ringed tail...this guy is exotically HANDSOME. In addition to his purr, he has a soft meow, a squeaky meow, and a trilling sound he uses to verbalize his moods - which are all some form of happiness!

Electric Slide is an absolute gem! He's very chill, but would likely do best with people who will give him lots of attention, cuddles, snuggles, and love. A multiple-person household might be best for him so he can spread his love around!

We could go on and on about how wonderful Slide is (and we kind of already have!), so contact us today to arrange a meet & greet and see for yourself!

Electric Slide has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Electric Slide can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.

Say "Yes" for Sapphire this Giving Tuesday

Living as a stray, Sapphire was struck by a car. She was bleeding, writhing in pain from nerve damage and bruised ribs — and pregnant.
