Gorgeous, Bashful, Playful
Skyrim's striking calico coat has so many lovely colors arranged in unique ways. She reminds us of a hidden picture puzzle...look at the array of pretty shapes long enough and you will find lots of sweet surprises!
Skyrim tenderly raised her kittens and they have all found forever homes. Now she is ready to find her own cozy place where she can nap, play and get some loving! She is a shy girl initially and may hide under furniture or run away from unfamiliar people. But, if you are patient and let her get to know you at her pace, you will earn her trust in time.
Skryim's foster family has fondly nicknamed her Chickpea. They gave her all the room she needed to acclimate and she has become much more comfortable with them. If they get down on her level, rather than towering above her, or simply keep pretty still and go slowly, she enjoys having her soft coat petted. We think she didn't spend much time with people in her past. But, now she's discovering that humans make nice friends and getting scratches and pets feels so good!
Like most any kitty, Skyrim enjoys a good nap curled up on a soft blanket. She also likes observing activities around her and playing with toys...or random things she finds on the floor. This creative girl can make a toy out of most anything! Sometimes she gets an evening rush and will play with toys by herself and chat about it. She will also let out some meows when she's hungry and wants food. She's a vocal gal!
Skyrim resides with the large resident dog in her foster home and is fine with sharing space with this pup. She doesn't like when the dog chases her. We certainly get that! But, she is a pacifist and doesn't try to scratch or fight, she just runs away. We think she would do fine in a home with a gentle, cat-friendly dog.
The ideal forever home for sweet Skyrim would be quiet and calm with a patient, understanding person who will give her as much time as she needs to feel safe and secure. Lots of treats and toys are a sure-fire way to win her over!

Skyrim has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Skyrim can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
