Sweet, Affectionate, Personality Plus!

You know how to know when Barbecue Sauce is around? Listen for the purr! And you know how to find "The Sauce" (as he is called in his foster home)? Follow the purr! You will hear him purr before you see him. If purrs are measured in time, then Barbecue can purr for days!

The Sauce loves chin scratches, ear scratches, back scratches, any kind of scratches! As you can tell by all that purring, he is very affectionate. Once you are through a brief getting-to-know-you period, he will stick by your side and curl up in your lap to make sure he is first in line for scratches!

Barbecue Sauce is full of personality, and one of the cutest things he does is to hold up one paw when he's contemplating action. Seriously, it might be the cutest thing we have ever seen!

Barbecue also talks to his toys! When he plays with the laser pointer toy, he will talk to the red dot (imagine what he is saying to the uncatchable dot!). He also has a fun time playing with string toys. He will play and wear himself out, then head off for a nap.

He likes to take his naps in a quiet and dark place, but he will ditch that little oasis if there is someone around to pet him! He isn't shy about asking for pets, and will meow around the house when he is looking for you.

Barbecue's white-tipped ears are adorable; they are orange except for the tips. And the smudgy marks on his nose looks like he may have investigated some barbecue sauce and accidentally gotten some on his nose!

Barbecue is a calm, snuggly, and gentle little dude! He uses the scratching post and the litter box perfectly, and scores 100% on All Things Cat!

We think Barbecue would thrive best in a calm home with people who want a companion cat! He's a great pal. Contact us today to arrange a meet & greet!

Barbecue Sauce has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Barbecue Sauce can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

Contact us today to arrange a meet & greet!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
