Purrs like crazy, Quirky, Character

Lapis Lazuli is totally precious! She LOVES people and greets you with her LOUD purr when she sees you. She has a cautious personality, but she adores chin scratches and body pets. She prefers to hang out near you, though she's not up for snuggling just yet; she will, however, let you pick her up. We think her next step will involve cuddling, once she is in her own home with her own trustworthy humans. In the meantime, she will be your close-by companion!

Lapis will make biscuits and purr while she's sitting around, and it seems like her paws go all the way up to her armpits! Which makes for some amazing biscuits. She has an intense stare that she uses to look at you, punctuated now and then with an affectionate slow blink. She is adorable!

Lapis is great with the autistic child in her foster home, behaving gently and tolerantly. It helps that the child feeds her, because Lapis is a big fan of food. And people who bring her food. And more food.

Lapis is finishing up raising her four kittens AND the three kittens she adopted! So she's been a bit too busy to play; she may start to show her playful side in her new home. She allowed visiting children to handle her kittens, no problem, though she was wary and preferred to stay under the bed at a safe distance while they were there, just to be sure.

Lapis is a chatterbox! When you talk to her, she talks back. And you know that friend of yours who likes to sing but can't carry a tune in a bucket? That's Lapis! She will actually sing along when the child in her foster home sings, and it's pretty bad. But she doesn't care! She gurgles and honks and makes all sorts of odd sounds that are hard to describe, and she couldn't be happier.

Fun fact: Take Lapis to the vet and she won't like it, but she will be completely quiet. Then, when she gets back home to her safe space...she is gonna let you know loudly what she thought about that car ride!

Another fun fact: Lapis does not trust the resident toy panda bear in her foster home, and treats it like an unwelcome intruder!

Also: Lapis does not like the dogs she has met.

Lapis might do best in a quieter home - though in her foster home she has learned to relax around noises, the broom, and sudden movements. Her humans should be respectful and take the time to earn her trust. She just needs a little help to accept she is safe and that snuggling is AWESOME!

Lapis is a beautiful tortie with a tan nose, a half-dark/half-light chin, "racing" stripes by her eyes, and an exceptionally soft tummy. Also, she will wag the tippy-top of her tail!

Lapis is a character with all of her quirks! And you can't help but love her for them - and be amused and enchanted by her! She's the kind of cat that will fill your heart and you'll wonder how you ever got along without her in your life.
