Sweet, Calm, Grateful
Tomato Paste might have somewhat of a resting grumpy face, but he is all sweetness and sunshine! He loves to sit in your lap, and will sit on your desk and keep you company while you work. Give him some cheek and head scratches, and he will nuzzle into you and purrrrrr!
Tomato also loves to sit in a window and watch the grackles! He recently moved from a kennel in the shelter to the APA! Volunteer Office, and he is quite the mascot! He loves his new space and all the people he now gets to hang out with, and we imagine he will be even 10 times more excited when he has his own home and family!
Tomato has a shortened tail due to previous unknown trauma which may have caused him to become urinary incontinent. He needs his bladder manually expressed (which means you press on it gently to help him "go"), but he doesn't leak between expressions - he only goes when you help him. Tomato loves treats and is easily distracted with treats during bladder expressions!
An incontinent cat can be overlooked because a potential adopter may assume that the incontinence is out-of-control. But not all incontinent cats require the same amount or type of care, and some simply require a routine with very little special care! And in every other way, Tomato is "normal" - fun, loving, and a great companion! Contact APA! for additional information on how to care for Tomato.
Tomato spends much of his day snoozing, but if someone comes into the office, he gets up from his bed and greets them with a head bonk. He is such a sweet boy!
And handsome! He has a rich black coat with salt-and-pepper highlights and amazing green eyes. And that adorable grumpy face!
Tomato is a quiet companion cat and is looking for a home where he can lounge, look at birds, snooze, and hang out with his people! That will make him completely happy.
