Regal, Sweetie, Purrtacular
Meet Praying Mantis! We're talking about the majestic, beautiful and sweet kitty version. All she needs is love, and you will have yourself an affectionate and purry lioness!
Praying Mantis is bashful initially. But, she makes daily progress in her foster home and now regularly spends time with her foster family. Letting Praying Mantis warm up to her at her own pace has truly paid off.
Praying Mantis is enamored with her foster mom now and is so trusting and loving. She enjoys being pet under her chin, down her back...pretty much all over. She absolutely loves having her glorious coat brushed, including on her floofy belly and chest.
One of the loveliest discoveries about Praying Mantis is that she is a lap cat! She now climbs into her foster's lap on a daily basis. She also loves to make biscuits on her little blanket and softly trill as she purrs.
Being a lady of a certain age, Praying Mantis does love her naps and takes them throughout the day in cozy, out-of-they-way places. Once she feels she can trust you, she will come and hang out with you when nap time is over. In her foster home, she has a favorite chair that she has chosen as her go-to place when she's chilling out with the family.
Praying Mantis used to think toys were scary. No more! She has discovered they are pretty darn fun and loves her felt wand toy, catnip kicking fish, fuzzy balls and her giant scratching post. She'd be happy to try out some more with you! Naps are still her favorite "activity", but now she's added playtime to her schedule!
Though she's a laid-back kitty, Praying Mantis adores the wild and crazy kitten she met in her foster home and likes playing with him. Maybe his youthful exuberance keeps this old gal feeling young! She has also gotten along with other kitties she has met.
Praying Mantis would love to be adopted into a calm home with a gentle person who will patiently and lovingly earn her trust. She would do best in an adult only home or one with older kids who understand and respect her needs. She would love a household that includes a kitty buddy.
Praying Mantis needs to be allowed to hang out in her hidey holes until she feels at ease without pressure to interact. Once she is comfortable she will love getting pets, brushings and affection from her special human. Oh yes, and toys! Ready to meet this sweetheart? Contact us to schedule an introduction!
Praying Mantis has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Praying Mantis can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior.
