Sweetie Pie, Kindhearted, Laid-Back

If Praying Mantis could have it her way, she would be asleep all day, every day. She tends to hide in safe places when sleeping but will purr her little booty off when you're petting her. She makes sweet, soft trills while purring! She likes to sit on laps and make biscuits with a blanket but retreats to her safe space afterward.

Praying Mantis would be the perfect companion for someone who is super chill. Originally, Praying Mantis was a stray in an apartment complex. As a result, she is very timid and hides when startled. She is looking for someone who has the patience to show her that she can trust people. In particular, Praying Mantis hopes to find someone soft-spoken and gentle. We think that Praying Mantis has the potential to become a lap cat, as she has shown daily progress in becoming more trusting and less fearful. In her ideal forever home, Praying Mantis would be the only furry family member.

Praying Mantis has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Praying Mantis can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
