Affectionate, Observant, Bright

Longneck may take a day to adjust - but once that time has passed, she is ready for all of the love! She is not afraid to ask for scritches, and uses her sweet voice to meow for her human's attention.

It doesn't take much time to earn Longneck's trust. She will curiously observe any newcomers from afar in her group room onsite at Tarrytown, but quickly deems people acceptable and jumps down from her perch to receive pets! She has been great with visitors of all ages - even follows the kids and toddlers around asking for extra attention. Longneck has kept a respectful distance from her feline roommates, and softly sets her boundaries with a simple hiss and retreat tactic. She could do well in a home with a little more traffic, as long as she has a cat tower or safe space to decompress in!

Longneck is so petite! Her nickname is unofficially 'sweet little lady' - partly because of her wonderful demeanor, but mostly because of her tiny little face and tiny little body! Her face is also on the narrow side, with big silly ears in contrast! It is hard to pick a favorite feature of Longneck's but her striking green eyes may take the cake!

Breakfast is important, and Longneck will not be shy about reminding her humans to feed her! But truly the main thing she wants out of her day is interactions with her humans! Longneck craves pets and attention. She will greet you as you wake up for the day, snake between your legs as you get ready for work, and starts purring the moment you lock eyes! Her true favorite thing in this world is affection, and no one has found a spot on her body that is off limits - pets of all kind are welcome, even from rambunctious toddlers still figuring out how cats prefer to be touched! She couldn't be sweeter if she tried!

To no one's surprise, this also means Longneck prefers her playtime to involve her family members! She eagerly chases and leaps after a wand toy being controlled by her human. If she must be left to her own devices to play, a toy smothered in catnip will do the trick! She loves to snuggle up with anything that remotely resembles catnip, and gets so into her activity that she ends up passing out from pure happy exhaustion! She would adore a cat tower and/or scratching post in her fur-ever home to be able to perch on and leap off of. Longneck can switch from playful to cuddly to sleepy in the drop of a hat!

Longneck can't wait to start exploring her fur-ever home! She will shower her family with love and adoration, and hopes they will be around often to give it right back. Contact APA! today to see if you can add this sweet little lady to your home!

Longneck has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Longneck can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
