Gorgeous, Affectionate, Loyal
Aren't Jax's gorgeous light green eyes enchanting? We're bewitched, ensorcelled, spellbound! They're like sea glass. He's such a handsome boy too with just the slightest bit of brown fur mixed in with his black patches to make it look like he's been sprinkled with cinnamon. HIs little black toe beans are impossible to resist too!
After having a rough life on the street, Jax is a little cautious when he encounters new people and places but once he realizes he can trust you and that you're there to deliver food and ear scritches on demand, he is a TOTAL lovebug and you'll be his favorite person! Nowadays, Jax wants nothing more than to live that laidback, relaxed housecat life. He loves lounging on the bed and couch, staring out a sunny window, or curling up next to you while you watch TV or read. Occasionally, he likes a fun feather toy or a nice game of attack-the-foot under the covers at bedtime, but he's generally content to nap and be an adorable loaf.
Once Jax knows you're his person, all he wants is to be near you. Sit on the couch and he'll be in your lap or by your side in no time. Lie down in bed and he'll curl up on your chest and purr you right to sleep. He loooooves head, chin, neck, and even belly scritches and will purr and make biscuits while you pamper him. He knows when he's had enough, though, and will move away on his own accord when he needs a break ... just a short break, though, and then he's ready for more!
When you go into whatever room Jax is lounging in, he'll meow as if to say, "Where have you been, hooman?" And when you make any move toward where the food is kept, he's on your heels meowing to remind you that he's a hungry, hungry boi. He's also vocal in the car and lets you know he is not very excited about being taken away from his favorite couch pillow. Otherwise, he's a pretty quiet guy.
He's only met another cat through a door, but there's been mutual curiosity and sniffing and occasionally a peek. He's also met dogs a few times and is cautious around them, but with time and gradual introductions, he could co-exist and maybe even be friends with a friendly pup. At his foster home, he's done well with children, but if people (of any age) approach him slowly and calmly, he's more than happy to accept pets and love. The more interactions he has (with any human, not just a child), the safer he feels and the more relaxed he is in their presence. He'd do best in a home that is relatively quiet and calm with a predictable routine and somewhere where he can be part of the family and welcome everywhere. He needs to snuggle!
Once he learns you're friendly and are there to be his person, he's incredibly loyal and loving. Whether you're a back sleeper or a side sleeper, he LOVES to be on you while you're lying down or be on his own pillow right next to you. He's a master biscuit-maker with the gentlest little purr. If this kind of cat buddy is up your alley, consider adopting Jax!
